On 16th March 2014, Bangladesh VS Afghanistan 1st T20 of T20 World Cup
2014 was scheduled. Bangladesh won the match by 9 wickets and 8 overs
remaining against Afghanistan. This was one sided match and Bangladesh started their journey

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first. There is no doubt that Bangladesh is a more experienced team than Afghanistan. Mushifqur Rahim thought Bangladesh's bowlers can control the Afghanistan's batsmen. So he decided to to do field first. Mortaza strikes on the first ball of the match and Afghanistan lost their 1st wicket on the score of 0 runs. After that Afghanistan's batsmen played carefully and started their inning with slow run rate. But suddenly on the score of 36 runs Afghanistan lost back to back 3 wickets. Shakib took 2 wickets in just one over and 3rd wicket was run out. After this shock Afghanistan couldn't do more and all out on 72 runs. Shakib Al Hasan took 3 wickets in this inning.
Bangladesh needed 73 runs to win the match. It is a very low target for any team. Bangladesh got a good start from Tamim Eqbal and Anamul Haque. Bangladesh lost 1st wicket on the score of 45 runs. Tamim Eqbal left the crease by making 21 runs for Bangladesh. After that Shakib Al Hasan came into crease. Bangladesh need not to did more effort and they chased the target in just 12 overs. On the last ball of 12th over Anamul Haque scored six runs and with this maximum six Bangladesh won the 1st match of T20 world cup against Afghanistan. In this match Anamul Haque Scored 44 runs in 33 balls. Man of the match award is given to Shakib Al Hasan for his wonderful bowling.
